Seconds in Singapore
This blog entry will be very short as we spent less than 24
hours in Singapore. Lisa and I were
excited to go back to Singapore as it is the only stop on this tour that we had
been to on our previous adventure and we wanted to see the changes. Man were there changes.
Our hotel was quite nice and a welcome change from the other
less than adequate places we have stayed on this tour. We couldn’t see much as the entire street in
front of our hotel was being ripped up.
With only an afternoon and an evening in the city we hit the
ground running. The first stop was
Raffles Hotel which was exactly as we remembered. Then we ventured down to the harbour front
and this is where the entire city had changed for us. See pictures below.
After the harbour front we walked up the river to Clarkes
Quay which had changed some. This is
when Lisa and I walked down to Chinatown.
It was exactly as we remembered and Lisa even knew where the toilets
were.
Just before sunset we walked to the living forest that was
built on the reclaimed land around the harbour to watch the artificial trees
come to life with light. It was
amazing. Look it up on how it works and
it will add new meaning.
We left early the next morning for Jakarta.
This is why it is titled seconds in Singapore.
