South Africa and the Shark Cage dive

Arrived safe and sound.
WiFi connections are sketchy when in areas to connect.  Sorry for no posts to date but the connection in the Cape Town hotel crapped out and we have been off grid (I mean totally off grid) for the last 6 days.  We were in the middle of no where.  (I mean go to the middle of nowhere and keep going and that is where we were for the last two nights.

A quick recap of the events.  Cape Town is beautiful.  Lots to do and see.
This was the view from Table Mountain.

Day 2 we went to cage dive with the Great White sharks.   It was extremely exhilarating.  Lisa and I were the first ones in the water.  The video clip is when I was alone in the cage and it came right at me and then rammed the cage.  I actually touched the fish as it bounced off and swam away.  They estimated the shark to be between 3 and 4 meters.  Todd’s go pro was very cool to have.  Thanks buddy.
It is a bit jumpy but hopefully you get the idea.  The shark actually rams the cage
and it took me a bit to get the gopro going.  It happened so fast.

This Great White is just under 4 meters

We then went overland for the next week.  I will try and post another post before we go off grid for another week once I put the pictures on the computer.
Just to give you a hint.
We have seen a lot of different animals.  But last night in the middle of the night was very cool as a herd of zebra galloped past our tents on the way to the watering hole.

  2. The shark cage was amazing. I got to go in the water 4 times for just over a total of 1 1/2 hours. I was the only one on the boat that got to go in that many times. The dive master kept telling to to stay in or come down and get back in as they changed the people over. The only down side was that I smelled like fish chum as they kept pouring it in the water to attract the sharks and it got all over me since I spent most of the water time near the back of the boat where the fish oils etc were being thrown.
